Key Policy -Clause
1. | The leaves entitlements:

2. | Un-availed Casual Leave during the calendar year would automatically be lapsed after financial year end, any holiday or weekly off falls between two sanctioned leave will not be counted as leave. | ||||
3. | The list of paid holidays at UEL will be : (Republic Day, Dhulendi, Rangpanchami, Rakhi, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Deepawali (2 days)) |
Casual Leave
Casual Leave is not earned while on duty, prior intimation is needed to be give to the HR department for the same, incase of emergency the same leave approval should provided within 3 days after resuming the work, Casual leave can be granted maximum to a period so that the total absence does not exceed 6 working days. |
Earned Leave:
This leave is earned by the employee while they serve the organization. The new employee will be given leaves in probation period which will be adjusted on pro rata basis from their leave balance viz. CL and PL. Earned leave can be availed by giving application in advance and can be availed only after due sanction except on medical grounds or circumstances beyond control of employee subject to satisfaction of management. |
Leave Without Pay (LWP)
Leave application should be submitted to the sanctioning authority before proceeding on leave and the concerned official shall maintain the record of sanctioned leave. In case leave is applied on mail its approval should be obtained and the approved copy should be forwarded to corporate HR. |
LEAVE AVAILMENT
• | Employees can avail leave subject to approval of respective authority. Any sanctioned leave can be cancelled before proceeding on leave by the competent authority. If an employee has proceeded on leave he can be called back by canceling leave keeping view at business exigencies, in such case he will be eligible for return fare and travel allowance as per his/her eligibility for the period of travel. |
• | For availing half day leave, employee must ensure that they have completed minimum four hours duty that means for first half from 10.00 AM-02.00 PM & 2.30 PM-6.30 PM shall be considered for second half. |
• | The leave can be prefixed or suffixed to weekly offs or Holidays. At the beginning of the financial Year (i.e., on 1st April) leaves earned by the employee in the previous year shall be credited to individual Leave Account. |
• | Availing Leave for THREE-DAYS or more on “Sick” ground is subject to submission of a Medical Certificate from a registered medical practitioner for the relevant period, which needs to be attached along with the Leave Application. This requirement can be waived at the discretion of the Unit head. |
• | The criterion of availing leave is “Personal”, “Sick” and “Going out of Station” –this need to be indicated at the time of creation of Leave Application. All sanctioned Leave Applications must be submitted to Corporate HR well in time. |
• | The leave record would be maintained for all the employees of solar division & Sanwer Road factory at corporate HR department. |
Leave Availment by Factory & Site staff
An employee who is not eligible for leave or whose leave is not a sanctioned leave and remains absent from duty will be treated as un-authorized absent in such cases disciplinary action may be initiated against the employee, However the un-authorized absence may be converted into leave without pay if management is satisfied with the justification given by the employee. An employee may take maximum 1 month LWP in a year except in cases like maternity. |
Leave Accumulation & Encashment
• | Employees can accumulate un-availed PL/EL to a maximum of 240 Days. |
• | Privilege leave beyond 240 would automatically be lapsed. |
• | Employees can encash their Earned Leave keeping a minimum balance of 30 Days, the employees have to take atleast 10 leaves every year, balance leave can be carry forwarded to next year. |
• | On Retirement/ Resignation/ Termination/ Death, the leaves due to him/her shall be en-cashed. |
• | Encashment may be made only once, at any time of the year and shall be encashed on the basic salary as on date of encashment. |
• | Encashment Amount shall be paid through salary of the respective month(s). |
Maternity Leave
A female employee who has completed continuous one year service in the organization is entitled for 26 weeks maternity leave. The employee can avail benefit up to 8 weeks including the day of her delivery and 18 weeks immediately following the date of her delivery. Maternity Leave can be combined with Earned Leave, if employee is having any balance in her account more leaves will be calculated as unpaid leave. |
